David Hixon graduated with honors in 2006 from George Mason University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Digital Art. The skills he learned combined with his eye for detail earned him a place as an Imaging Specialist at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C. While there he edited images from famous photographers and artists, and often worked on restoring and archiving photographs. After leaving NGS, he worked as a freelance artist for several years before deciding to move to Atlanta so he could return to school in order to follow his true passion: Animation. In 2014, he graduated magna cum laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Atlanta with a BFA in Animation. He has since worked as a freelance artist and animator. While he loves to wear many hats in any production, his specialty lies in lighting, texturing, and shading in 3D.
