Shelbia Jackson currently manages DeKalb County’s TV/Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office also known as the DeKalb Entertainment Commission with a budget of $305K. She is responsible for the coordination of all TV/Film projects produced in unincorporated DeKalb County as well as the facilitation of film permits from its 13 cities and unique communities. She also oversees the implementation of the DeKalb Entertainment Strategic Plan.
Shelbia has helped facilitate the production of more than 500 film projects in DeKalb County. A few of these critically acclaimed projects include: The Passage, Macgyver (Season 3), The Mule, The Resident (Season 2), To Catch a Killer, Black Lightning (Season 2), Love Is _____, Jungle Cruise, Good Girls, Legacies, Stranger Things, Lodge 49 and American Soul.
She collaborates with strategic partners such as the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office, the Georgia Film Academy, DeKalb Convention and Visitors Bureau (DCVB), the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, four Community Improvement Districts, DeKalb’s three major motion picture studios, location scouts and production managers as well as metro Atlanta’s business community to promote entertainment opportunities and market film initiatives. This also includes participating in public speaking and marketing events that promote DeKalb County as a “camera-ready” community.
